I love OTs and OTAs. I love sensory gyms and have been in them as a kid. I had lots of OT, OT, and speech therapy. I am actually in college right now to become an OTA. I want to help inspire kids and show them that things will get better. Great video here. I have a sensory corner in my bedroom and I have fidget toys and things to look at in that corner. I have to say I have been bringing my son to OT for 6 years now and the work has always been focused on the problem not necessarily the root of the problem. I just learned about retained primitive reflexes and was so surprised to hear about how much impact it had on daily living/learning. Is this a newer discovery? I reached out to our OT to see if she was familiar with the evaluation process and was so excited to learn that she had taken a training on primitive reflexes and that she will assess for them at our next session. I am hopeful this will now become a part of his treatment plan and we start seeing progress in some of the areas where he may show retention. This seems like something that would be relatively easy for school systems to have as a standard part of their cirriculum for the younger kiddos which could help them tremendously when it comes to children who currently have retentions that can eventually cause larger delays in the future educationally. I am so thankful that I stumbled upon this!

Another thing I do every day, it’s a strict part of my schedule. I make myself a hot drink, and I go outside on my porch with it, and I listen to a meditation song. It’s called Morning Peace. It fits the mood so well.

Nature is such a great thing. As a spiritual person who is deeply into meditation, I love being outside. I still even swing outside as a full-grown adult. I’m also a musician, so I deeply enjoy going down by the river or other places in nature with a musical instrument, and I play my instrument out in the nature, and sometimes I sing while playing the instrument while the nature is also singing with me.
